Question Script

Hi,
Can a script written in a way that other people can see it but can't run it?
I saw a script was called by one of our programs. I was trying to test to see if I can just run itself. I typed the script name but nothing happend. I didn't get an error message saying that I was not allowed to run it nor didn't I get message back. I looked at the script and it supposed to give me a echo message if the program already running.
I don't get it.

Does anyone know?

Can you post the script (or the relative section of it if lengthy)?

How is it invoked (i.e. called from the "parent" script)?

What is its location on the filesystem and what are the permissions?

Questions, questions....

Cheers

script

Here is the whole script. It's permission status:-rwxrwxr-x
I think the program that invoked it was a compiled C program. It's status is ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1, dynamically linked.
That's all I know.

Output from the echo's is redirected to
$HOME/project/start/DialerStart.log

Have a look at that file and you should see the output
