delete more than one line awk or perl
Hi all!

How can a file be rid of three lines in sequence like the sample below:
Code:
...
</s>
<s> 
<w>[3]</w>
</s>
<s>
...

to get:
Code:
...
</s>
<s>
...

Note that the digits between square brackets may be more than one, comprising a comma, or a full-stop; and that the string between brackets may differ from each other in the different lines.

Hard to tell what you want, what part is deleted; the 2 lines before <w> line or after - My guess is after:

Code:
$ cat testin
...
</before>
<before> 
<w>[3]</w>
</removed>
<removed>
...
 
$ sed -n '/<w>\[[0-9.,]*\]<\/w>/!bp;n;n;n
:p
p' testin
...
</before>
<before> 
...
