grep and cat based on specific mod date

I'm trying to figure out how to open and copy all contents of files last modded on aug 14 to one single text file. Also, I'm trying to do this in one command string.

I have

ls -l -R | grep "Aug 1" but all this does is print the -l info with Aug 1 in it.

how can I modify this so that

ls -l -R | grep "Aug 1" | open file >> final.txt

the files dont have a particular extension either. just that they were modded on aug 1

thanks

Code:
ls -l -R | grep "Aug 1" | awk '{print$9}' | xargs cat >>final.txt

Code:
ls -l -R | grep "Aug 1" | awk '{print$9}' | xargs -i cat {} >>final.txt

Actually, that only works for the files that are in my current directory. As soon as it goes into a different directory it stalls.
