I have a large script with a lot of print statements and misc commands. Standard and error outputs are redirected like into the following code :

I'm a fairly new AIX admin (disclaimer).
We have SQL scripts written by end users that use a userid and passwd to connect to our DB2 database.
Is it possible to create an "input file" that contains the db2 connect parameters and yet secure the file from the SQL creator?

Without truss the script runs fine!
How to understand it?
I have used the truss to resolve a 'magic' disappearing, but it brings own questions.

The following command does not work under cygwin bash.
ant debug >log 2>&1 && ant image >>log 2>>&1 & pid=$!
It gives the error "-bash: sysntax error near unexpected token '&'".

NAME
script - make record of a terminal session
SYNOPSIS
script [-a] [filename]
DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the
record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS.
The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends
when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-a Appends the session record to filename, rather than overwriting it.
NOTES
script places everything that appears on the screen in filename, including prompts.
