Hey Durden thanks for assist. My result concurs with your when I ran it. Two thing which is not of utmost important, but if you have the time.

After running the monthly I notice it's giving me a total for the month, which is good. The result I'm looking for after executing the MMYYYY portion of the script should list all the days for that month and if possible list the total in the last column.

10/06 10/07 10/08 Total
11308 6328 6619 877788
11249 6300 6591 868685
11265 6310 6604 968685
11265 6311 6603 685444
10884 5938 6182 899874
10886 5938 6182
10884 5938 6180
10884 5938 6180

The second thing is sometimes the log file end up logging text errors and Ithink that's why I'm getting these errors below.

HTML Code:
Argument "mary had to failed due to lamb not id" isn't numeric in addition (+) at input.pl line 38, <F> line 154482.
Could the script be modified to avoid the text or string rows and just parse the numeric? Don't get me wrong it's giving me the correct totals even with the errors, but I would like for it to be legible.

Thanks RDC!
I'm getting the following error when try to run your script.
Code:
awk: syntax error near line 1
awk: bailing out near line 1

I'm fairly new to scripting, therefore can I save this to a file and execute like Durden's method?
I would like to test both worlds and possibly decipher them myself so I can understand their dynamics.

Seems your system is Solaris, and not support gawk asorti function.
