"LOGIN" Command arguments
Is there anyway to change arguments for the "login" command say within a script? Like say
#!/bin/bash
login -p $username $passwd

(kinda like that) except have the password autoincrement for each time it doesn't work?

In general, no, there is no easy way.

If I understand what you are saying:

1. anytime any user biffs a password, his/her password gets incremented by 1

2. So, if user1/passwd99 fails to login, then user1/passwd99 becomes user1/passwd100

This has the potential to lock out a lot of users who are meant to login. With appropriate PAM modules (you write them) this could happen, except it seems to be a disaster waiting to happen, IMO.

Rather than what you think you need to do, tell us what exact problem you need to solve.
