I have values stored in my .zshrc file. These are unimportant but often required. The plan is to write a function (get()) to access the values and copy to the pasteboard as required.
e.g.- EML='thisistricky2@yahoo.com.au' (this in .zshrc)
want the function call get EML to put the value of $EML on the pasteboard.
pseudo-code for fn get() function get()

you should use eval to eval this expression twice 'cause there are two $ here,without using eval,the shell will expand the express once,for example,if you have:
you will get something like 1234b #1234 is the pid of this process--$$
Shell did one expantion,it substitute $$ with the pid of this process,if you wanna get the expected results,you must do it like this:
to force the shell to do the expantion twice,first get
echo $a
then do the twice,get the value of a.
so,in your problem,it should be:
