Power call a function in for loop
Hi all,
I am trying to call a function in for loop in the below format
Code:
#!/bin/bash
abc()
{
  commands
}

for (( i=0; i<=10; i++ ))
do 
  abc
done

The error i am getting when trying to execute:

syntax error: unexpected end of file

canany one help me where i am going wrong??

There is nothing wrong with code you provided, the loop calls the function abc 11 times...

Have you used a windows editor?

I am running in linux machine using vi editor only

Tell us which OS and which version of bash you have.

I got the script to fail on Solaris 8 because its bash does not understand that kind of for statement.
