It looks like works every time for me, or you have some specific requirement.

Code:
$ dig -x 68.142.255.16 +short 
ns2.yahoo.com.
$ dig -x 68.180.131.16 +short
ns1.yahoo.com.
$ dig -x 119.160.247.124 +short
ns5.yahoo.com.

I get the ip addresses from a list.. and this is what makes it different from yours

I only get the list of ip addresses in a variable in a loop and that I suppose I should get the host names for all the list at once.. does that simplify the idea?
