Question "lockfile: command not found"

Just tried out the following code from "Using lockfiles in shell scripts":
Code:
 #!/bin/bash

if [ -e number.txt ]; then
        echo "File exists"
else
        echo "File does not exists. Create file now."
        echo 1 > number.txt
fi

lockfile script.lock

a=$(/usr/bin/tail -n 1 number.txt)

if [ $a -gt 1 ]; then
        a=$(/usr/bin/tail -n 1 number.txt)
        /usr/bin/expr $a - 1 >> number.txt
fi

if [ $a -lt 2 ]; then
        a=$(/usr/bin/tail -n 1  number.txt)
        /usr/bin/expr $a + 1 >> number.txt
fi

rm -f script.lock

The two red lines are enough for semaphore behaviour, right? Then I ran above script 1000 times:
Code:
for a in {1..1000}; do bash script.sh & done

Alas, I get an error lockfile: command not found. Smilie

Terminal suggests I install procmail (sudo apt-get install procmail), but why should I install a "mail delivery agent (MDA)"? Smilie

EDIT: I just went ahead and installed procmail. Smilie

An now you installed procmail package, it works... For lockfile is not that standard - it belongs to procmail package
