Shell Programming and Scripting

I have a directory where lot of "gzip" files are dropped in every 5 minutes. There is an application which will process these gzip and move it to another directory but will leave a gzip.out file with lot of output data.
I need to remove all the outfiles except for the one which is being processed. I am thinking
1) List all files with extension .out
2) remove the .out and check for existance of that file in current directory
3) If found do nothing
4) If found delete the out file

Any help with the script is appreciated

done

This puts a filetime on dummy, sleeps 10 minutes and removes .out files older than 10 minutes. Adjust the 3600 to meet your needs.

Or. You can also make a crontab entry

This runs every thirty minutes
