Finding files for a date
Hi,

I have a directory with files from past 2 years.I need to find all the files for a specific date .
Due to certain reasons I could not use this command in my process find . -type f \( -newer /tmp/May-1-2007 -a ! -newer /tmp/May-2-2007 \).

Is there any other command to solve this?

I believe argument to -newer should be a filename (assuming May-1-2007 is not a filename) so you won't be able to give a date range. You could try as below if it helps..

ls -l --time-style="+%b-%d-%Y" |grep 'May-1-2007'
