You can do this:

curl -s "$URL" | awk '/TEMPERATURA:/{gsub(/<[^>]*>/,x);printf "%s",$2}' > temperatura.txt

but be advised that removing the newline makes the line unterminated and not all utilities can handle this, for example a while read loop in a shell will not read the value (but read var < file will).
