using sed
Please explain the following sed command

sed -n -e '/^------/,/^+-----/ !d' -e '/--------/ !p filename

getting output = 0

It the left part of the sed statement will print everything between and including a line that starts with "------" and one that starts with "+-----". So that would be:

The right side says that lines that contain "--------" should not get printed. So that leaves:

i made a script to update a lot of xml files. to save me some time. Ran it and it replaced all the the files with a 0kb file.
