1 means true. It is equivalent to '1{print $0}' (if true, then print the entire record), but since {print $0} is the default action, you can leave that out.

space is assigned to Output Record Separator, but since it is passed as an external variable, it cause the rebuild of the layout and print $0 ?
In this code, i don't see anything regarding the initial coma separator so i am not about the ouput

Hi no, it does not cause a rebuild of the record, since no field is altered. It just uses a different Output Record Separator.

Ok so in fact it does not really the expected job since the coma remains...
