How to create user in Oracle?

Hello,

could any one tell me that, How to create new user in oracle?
I know the command,
Code:
 
 create user <username> identified by <password>

But if I give this command on /Home$ prompt, I am getting error as,
Code:
create : not found.

Please let me know if anyhting is wrong in my command? also let me know the correct way to do it.
I am having AIX OS and Oracle database. In my database there is one user called ora, Now I want to create another user using logins of ora user.

If you want to create user in oracle, you must first connect to database.
running oracle commands on unix prompt would result syntax errors/command not found etc.

If you are a professional, I would suggest to sit with seniors/Dba and have some basic knowledge of unix and oracle. Google could also helpful for you.

coming back to your problem,
you need to have sql prompt on your terminal ( the method is same as described in your other posts as a solution) or use any GUI tools ( eg toad, pl/sql developer etc )

I think I am not having that much access previleges on DB server, so, I'll try to do it with help of seniors/DBA.
