Mail making attachment

Hi!
I am trying to send a small log as a body of an email.
cat linuxfile | mail -s $subject $to_epost
Because of the removal of extra line brakes in outlook the e post is hard to read for many.
From your pages have I found some ideas?
awk '{printf "%s\r\n", $0}' linuxfile | mail -s $subject $to_epost
or
cat linuxfile | unix2dos | mail -s $subject $to_epost
In both cases in the email in outlook is without body, but with 2 attachments. The attachments has the name = subject + “.dat”. The first is 4 bytes smaller than the other. Both looks correct (with all text and with line breaks) in notepad.

The default changed in Microsoft Outlook 2003.

You can put it back to the old setting:

         Preferences
            E-mail options
               Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages (UNCHECK BOX)

Thanks for yur reply.

I know this option, but I don't like to change outlook to all receivers of the e-mail.

I had a similar problem and found putting a couple of spaces on the front of each line stopped the join 'feature' of Outlook:
