Error Expect script

Hi All,

I have some problem about expect script. Is there anyone can help me out of this?

I want to write a expect script for Solaris. It has two branches.
Normally, we should expect as follows
Code:
expect "enter your choice:*"
send "1/r"
expect "enter your ip address:*"
send "10.42.33.108/r"

but sometimes when you enter your choice an error message will display on the screen
Code:
ERROR: it has not been configurated. Please config it first.

The other branch is when the error message displayed, you should send different string.
How can I decide whether or not the error message displayed on the screen in the expect script?
Can you give me an example?

Do you mean something like this?

Code:
puts stderr "error\r"

I think radoulov did not understand the question
I have two branches in the expect script
one is for the normal execution (no error occurs)
the other is for the error occurrence
can I use the if statement to handle it? and how?
Code:
if(#error displayed#){
   expect "..."
   send "bye\r"
}else{
   expect "enter your ip address:*"
   send "10.42.33.108/r"
}

OK,
I'll give an example:

Code:
% touch file_ok
% ./s file_ok
go, go!
% ./s no_such_file
error

This is the content of the script s:

Code:
#!/usr/bin/expect --

log_user 0

spawn ls [lindex $argv 0]

expect {
  "*No such*" {
    puts stderr "error\r"
    exit 1
    }
  default     {
    puts "go, go!"
    }
  }
