Why cannot have multiple pipes from tee?

why I cannot do this?
Code:
 prog_name | tee logfile | awk /regexp/ | awk /regexp/

I now this is not elegant code, but am intrigued as to why multiple pipes from tee not allowed.

i think there is nothing any problem..
firstly program`s output forward -> stdoutput and logfile sametime and than
after run awk commands pipe the outputs..

Of course, it works. look:
Code:
cat /root/.bash_profile | tee logfile | awk /if/ |awk /if/

output
Code:
if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then

What you mean say: no work?
Of course:
