i am trying to prepare a text file by awk .
My code is like below

echo "$a $b $c $d $e $f $g $h "|nawk '{for(i=1;i<=5;i++){printf("%s\t %s\t %s\t %s\t %s\t %s\t %s\t %s\t\n", $1 , $2 ,$3 ,$4 ,$5 ,$6 ,$7 ,$8)}}' >> tempfile.txt

Now my req is $d will print as per user req . if user inputs 11000,11010 and 11020 then in 4th column 1st 5 value(row 1-5) will be 11000,2nd 5 value(row 6-10) will be 11010 and 3rd 5 value (row 10-15) will be 11020

but if the user only inputs 11000 then only 5 rows will be printed as 11000.

and user wants 2 rows
then
o/p for column 4

1100000100000120100612100000
1101000100000120100612101000
1102000100000120100612102000
1100000100000120100612103000
1101000100000120100612104000
1102000100000120100612105000

if the user i/p 11000 and wants 2 rows
then
o/p for column 4
1100000100000120100612100000
1100000100000120100612101000
