Comparision

My exact scenario is .

i gathered tablename information into 1 file f1.txt

The content of the f1.txt are

EMPNO
FIRSTNME
MIDINIT
LASTNAME
WORKDEPT
PHONENO
HIREDATE
JOB
EDLEVEL

The content of the f2.txt are
EMPNO
FIRSTNME
MIDINIT
LASTNAME
WORKDEPT
PHONENO
HIREDATE
JOB
EDLEVEL
SEX
BIRTHDATE
SALARY
BONUS
COMM
EMPSTAT
EMPCOUNTRY

Now i need to print the columns which are not there in 1st file and which are there in 2nd file or viceversa.

i found some where in google .

awk 'NR == FNR {
f1[$1,$2] = $0
next
}
($1 SUBSEP $2) in f1 && $0 != t[$1,$2] {
printf "Column %s in the table %s mismatches\n%s\n%s\n",
$2, $1, f1[$1,$2], $0
}

which is not relavent code for my scenario any one can provide me the script related to my scenario??

it worked for me

incase i need to print ..like

1.if matches not found "the unmatching recoreds are

xxxx

yyy

zzz

any idea how to add this in to current your script?

Will be much easy to provide a working solution if you can provide a sample data and required output.
