I have two issues.
1).I want to check if directory exists and inside that if file exists with today's date minus one. I can check directory exists but how can i check only a pattern of filename in that directory.Name of file is files-20170105-09.gz.

I want to print the nth and n+1 lines from a file once it gets a pattern match.
For eg:
aaa
bbb
ccc
ddd
gh
jjjj

I am writing a BASH script. I have a list of files and I would like to make sure that each is of a specific pattern (ie *.L2). If not I would like to remove that file. How do I test whether a filename matches a given pattern?

NAME
sieveshell - remotely manipulate sieve scripts
SYNOPSIS
sieveshell [--user=user] [--authname=authname] [--realm=realm] [--exec=script] server[:port]
sieveshell --help
DESCRIPTION
sieveshell allows users to manipulate their scripts on a remote server. It works via MANAGESIEVE, a work in progress.
The following commands are recognized:
list list scripts on server.
put <filename> upload script to server.
get <name> [<filename>] get script. if no filename display to stdout
delete <name> delete script.
activate <name> activate script.
deactivate deactivate all scripts.
OPTIONS
-u user, --user=user
The authorization name to request; by default, derived from the authentication credentials.
-a authname, --authname=authname
The user to use for authentication (defaults to current user).
-r realm, --realm=realm
The realm to attempt authentication in.
-e script, --exec=script
Instead of working interactively, run commands from script, and exit when done.
