Error Perl command help needed

Code:
#!/bin/bash
perl -nle'
  /(?:date|time|ref)/ and print join " ", /(?:date|time|ref)[\w-]+/g
    or print
    ' inputfile

Problem I have is that I want to delete words that are on the line of the 3 words above (date, time, and reference). However, I do not want to delete the words which contain these words, just the ones that are on the line with it!

Code:
date-01/01/01 hello
time-2110 hello
ref/0001 hello
this should remain
this should remain

should give
Code:
date-01/01/01
time-2110
ref/0001
this should remain
this should remain

but gives
Code:
date-01/01/01
time-2110

this should remain
this should remain

as it deletes the word if it contains '/'. Any help! Thanks!

Try this,

Code:
perl -nle 's/(date|time|ref)(.+?)\s(.*)/$1$2/g; print;' infile

my apologies as I probably didn't explain this problem the best that I should have. The input file may have many other words on the line, both after and before before the keyword, so the $1$2 would not be too useful in this problem!

Code:
some stuff date-01/01/01 hello
stuff time-2110 hello how are you today
ref/0001 hello happy birthday
this should remain
this should remain

Something like this,

Code:
perl -nle 'if (/(date|time|ref)(.+?)\s|(date|time|ref)(.+?)$/) { print $&; } else { print $_; }' infile

Try below:-

Code:
perl -lpe 's/.*?\s*(?=date|time|ref)(.*?)\s+.*/$1/xg;' infile.txt

Code:
i/p
some stuff date-01/01/01 hello
stuff time-2110 hello how are you today
ref/0001 hello happy birthday
this should remain
this should remain

Code:
o/p

date-01/01/01
time-2110
ref/0001
this should remain
this should remain
