Shell Programming and Scripting

Hi ,
I have to write a bash script for password retrival from diffrent file for an user and then I want to login with that password and username to the system and then I want to perform a trace file scan and if it gets any ORA- error then it should send a mail to me .Please suggest me some appropriate method as I am a new guy in shell scripting.

please use a better subject text.

It would easy and secure if you set up a ssh connection between your host and the remote host, exchanging their public keys etc., if not already done.
Then it would be no problem to use ssh to issue commands on the remote host.

If needed, there are plenty of threads dealing with setting up ssh passwordless in this forum (use the search function) as well as websites on the www.

Basically my need is to change the password of a particular user like oracle based on the user input and if any error is there that should be reflected in the logfile so that we can check what went wrong and after this it should update in the database which can be accessible by the privileged user throught third party password management software.It is for a huge environment.Please suggest me a secure action plan as it is related to security.
