need to send files to an email id
Hi,I would like to send all the files in a particular folder to an e-mail id .I am able to send a particular file via email but that gets displayed in the email as content using the mailx option. I just want to view it in the mailbox as an attached file. Could you please help me out in this?ThanksArun

use uuencode:

(uuencode file.txt file.txt) | mailx -s "Mail with Attachment" test@example.com

this will send the mail with file.txt as an attachment.

If you want to send multiple files, you can either zip them and then uuencode the zip file or you can do the following:

(uuencode file1.txt file1.txt; uuencode file2.txt file2.txt) | mailx -s "Mail with 2 Attachments" test@example.com

This will send 2 attachments with the mail.
