How to automate user's inputs.

Hi Friends,

I am wrinting a shell script MorningChecks.sh which will call another script StartServer.sh. But the latter script requires user's inputs to complete. I want to automate this.

So can you please let me how this can be achieved?

Any help would be highly appereciated.

Thanks,
Chandan

You can't automate user interactive user inputs. If you know the i/ps are always the same or predefined, then we can automate. Otherwise, it doesn't serve the purpose of having such a script.

Or you can pass the inputs as a parameter in the first script and accept those parameters in the later script.

Run as
Code:
MorningChecks.sh param1 param2

Code:
param1=$1
param2=$2
./StartServer.sh $param1 $param2

You need to show how the second script is accepting the I/P parameters.

Thanks Devaraj for your suggestions.

The inputs will always remain the same. So we just need to automate this.

Ok. If the i/p is always the same, then it can be automated and better to be automted Smilie

You may need to change the StartServer.sh script to be able to accept the paramters passed from the outer script. Hope this helps.
