For Suppose, I have installed a package having files file1, file2 and file3. After installation, I removed the file "file3".
But "rpm -qf file3" is giving the package name, even file3 was not there. And also "rpm -ql package" is also displaying all 3 files.

Currently have an issue were we use a script to load a security .dat key. The script was failing to load stating "Unable to open directory". I ssh'd into the server and performed an ls -la on the /cdrom directory. I show the usual cdrom0 but the directory on the cd should be key but is showing... (0 Replies)

Hi,
When I include a user to the secondary group "sys" GID=3 in Solaris 9 OS I'm not able to login. I get these error. The user home directory and the shell exists. Is this because of any security hardening.

I am uploading files that need to be processed prior to uploading. I will put the files in a directory. My question is how can I write an easy process to kick off a script once a file has been added? Is there an easy way to determine if a file has been added to a directory?

I have windows Xp installed, and decided to install Solaris Sun Unix 10. The hard disk was previousely partitioned into 5 partition. C: = Win98 D = WinXP and e,f,g,h are applications and so on. NAME
update-mime-database - build the shared MIME_Info database cache
SYNOPSIS
update-mime-database -h | -v | mime-dir
DESCRIPTION
update-mime-database updates the shared mime-info cache according to the system described in the Shared MIME-Info Database specification
from the X Desktop Group.
OPTIONS
The following options are supported:
-h Display a command summary.
-v Display version information
OPERANDS
The following operands are supported:
MIME-dir The directory for which update-mime-database should rebuild the cache. This option is mandatory if no other option is pro-
vided.
EXAMPLES
Example 1: Update Shared mime-info Cache for /usr/share
example% update-mime-database /usr/share
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

EXIT STATUS
The following exit values are returned:
0 Application exited successfully
>0 Application exited with failure
