String replacement

Hi All,

I have below file which has data in below format.

Code:
#$ | AB_100
| AB_300
()| AB_4
@*(% | AB-789

i want o/p as below format.

Code:
| AB_100
| AB_300
| AB_4
| AB-789

So here there is no standard format.
How we can achieve the same in unix ?

Regards,
Subhash

anbu's sed solution will strip all characters before the final pipe in a line. If, instead, you only want to strip characters before the first pipe, use the following.
Code:
sed '/|/s/^[^|]*//'

If the number of pipes is zero or one, they behave identically.

This long-awaited (Smilie) perl variant should work as well:
Code:
$ perl -lne '@arrr = split(/\|/); print "|$arrr[1]"' file
