Is it possible to call a perl function from a perl module from within a shell script. I have a similar requirement.

your request does not make much sense.

if i understand this correctly you have a shell script.
inside this shell script you have some perl commands.
from these perl commands you want to load a module and use its functions.

well you can use perl on the command line. its full syntax i do not know because well frankly i dont use perl on the command line. but i dont think you can load a module on the fly and use a function.

my suggestion would be to just use perl in the first place. it will be 20x more robust then shell scripting and it will most likely be more expandable down the line.
