Files and directories
I have a .txt file with 100 entries. I want to create a directory named after each entry.

Example of file
AC101
AC102
BP201
BP300
PM7
.
.
PM200

I was thinking about: head -100 *.txt | mkdir ....
Im sure you guys have a craftier method.

using xargs

Assuming there's one directory name per line, and a possibility of whitespace in the names:

tr \\n \\0 < file | xargs -0 mkdir

If there is no chance of whitespace, then danmero's simpler solutions will work great.
