Shell Programming and Scripting

I have a shell script that I am pulling different zip file packages and totaling how many of each type of package is in the directory. I get a bogus total count of one in the middle of my output file (highlighted in RED) and not sure why, also would like to get a grand total of all files but not sure how to do this any ideas?

any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Without knowing anything about what your data looks like, my guess is that $0 contains nothing but blanks for that errant total line. Compare the output of find to what the final tr in the pipeline is feeding awk (you can do this with a couple of tee commands, one after the find and one after the final tr). The tr|cut|tr is probably mangling something in a manner you did not intend.

You could try adding a -regex or -name to find, making sure the filenames returned by find are in an acceptable format, or add a grep right before your awk.
