sed -e 's%/$%%' explain this command

mount -ps | tail -1 | awk '{print $1}' | sed -e 's%/$%%'

can you please explain this command mainly sed -e 's%/$%%' this....

Here sed job is to remove the / from the end of line.
Any special character can be used in place of / in sed.
Code:
sed -e 's#/$##'

also do the same job.

i have checked but it is not working

What have you tried and what was result? Change Field seperator from % to # or /.

Code:
sed -e 's/\/$//' infile

if you only want to the "/" at the end of line
