Switch to different user without expect

Hi,
I have to switch to a different user and execute certain commands and then come back to the original user

Ex: My id is 'usstage'. I need to switch to 'apstage', souce a script there, execute a function and then get back again to usstage.

Please note that I do not have expect installed and I am using AIX 5.3

I tried something as shown below but it did not work.
Code:
su - apstage -c "cd /home/apstage/src/util; . GHD_common.ksh"

Please help.

Thanks in advance,
Sugan

Do you have sudo installed? If so, you can set it up to do what you want without prompting.

No. I do not have sudo installed as well.
Any way to do it without expect or sudo?

What were you expecting to happen?
What actually happened?
Were there any error messages?

Sorry.
This code does work!
Code:
su - apstage -c "cd /home/apstage/src/util; . GHD_common.ksh; db_connect -c FIWLRAP"

Thanks so much.
