MySQL Format columns

I have a very easy one for you this morning Smilie
A file containing this type of formated data:

Code:
500190 488.356
500193 546.7
566486 466.75
506654 288

However, it should be formated like this:

Code:
500190 488.356
500193 546.700
566486 466.750
506654 288.000

I know that this can be done with both awk or printf, however the actual syntax is too far away.

Thx, guys...

Sorry... Just got it with

Code:
awk '{printf"%x.xY%x.xY\n",$1,$2'} file > newfile

I don't get your expected output with your command, this should be the way to format the 2nd column:
Code:
awk '{printf("%s %.3f\n", $1, $2)}' file

What I use is
Code:
awk '{printf("%11.8s%8.7s\n",$1,$2)}' infile > outfile

and I get

Code:
500209 486.564
500210 555.4

which works fine for the thing I want to use - however, I still need to move the second column 8 spaces and still be right-centered.

Code:
500209 486.564
500210 555.4

With your code I get:

Code:
500209486
500210555
