See the following code some more ways to achieve this requirement.
using this we can remove the "test \" line from file.

using sed

Code:
cat file1 | sed '/^test/d'

Code:
cat file1 | sed -n  '/^test/!p'

it will remove the liles beginning with test.

using grep

Code:
grep -v '^test \\$' file1

Code:
grep -v '^test' file1
