Telnet in command prompt
Hi,

i have typed telnet yahoo.com 80 in command prompt

it displays as a blank command prompt page titling as Telnet Yahoo.com

Other than that i am not able to get anything. can anyone sort me out the reason for this

It belongs to command prompt section and that one belongs to linux section

What was the exact command line and input/output to/from telnet?

You can usually get out of a stuck telnet session with single the key combination ctrl/] followed by "quit".

I expect that yahoo.com will have blocked telnet access. Your local network admin may have blocked non-essential ports anyway.

We assume that by "command prompt" you mean "unix command prompt" not "Windows command prompt".

In command prompt i typed as

telnet yahoo.com 80

i got output in blank page as

Telnet Yahoo.com as Heading in top of screen in that blue border.

oly blank screen appearing

It doesnt create any connection

Not quite sure what you expect to happen. Port 80 is normally for http not telnet and there should not be a telnet daemon listening on port 80.
