How to download to a file using wget in perl?
Hi,

I want to download some online data using wget command and write the contents to a file.

For example this is the URL i want to download and store it in a file called "results.txt".

Code:
#This is the URL.
$url="http://www.example.com";
#retrieve data and store in a file results.txt

How can i use wget command for downloading and write to the file results directly?

Any suggestions?

If you search the forums (per the rules, LOL), you can find a number of references, for example:

How to download using wget is described in the wget man page. Look for -O (that's an uppercase o)

If you're using Perl anyway, why not forgo platform-dependent external programs and use LWP or LWP::Simple?
