Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to delete given number of top and bottom rows in a flat file which has new line as its delimiter.
For ex: if top_rows=2 & bottom_rows=1
Then in a given file which looks like:
New York
DC
LA
London
Tokyo
Prague

I am trying to find a way to take a .csv file with 7 columns and a ton of rows (over 600,000) and remove the entire row if the cell in forth column is blank.

I have 2 files,
file01= 7 columns, row unknown (but few)
file02= 7 columns, row unknown (but many)
now I want to create an output with the first field that is shared in both of them and then subtract the results from the rest of the fields and print there
e.g.

I need to delete rows based on the number of lines in a different file, I have a piece of code with me working but when I merge with my C application, it doesnt work.
sed '1,'\"`wc -l < /tmp/fileyyyy`\"'d' /tmp/fileA > /tmp/filexxxx
