Bug Send data to standard input
Hello,

I'm writting a korn script that executes a daemon in a remote server. The problem is that daemon doesn't go background until it receives an enter from the standard input, and it maintains the rsh opened until it get it. I'm looking for the best (efficient and elegant) way to do send the enter key to do process. What are you suggests?

Isnt that because it thinks you are using an interactive shell?
I you were in batch mode, it should not expect a <Enter> ...

The daemon has a start sciprt with a line containing "read m" as a method to pause de execution. After that the script just exit. The easiest way to solve the problem is comment the line, so my manager complains about modifying our product supplier's (poor) software.

why not a script like:

remsh remoteserver <<EOF 
prompt 
cd whatever
your commands 
...
EOF

How to copy from standard input
