How to know the location of the listener?

Hi,

I have an unknown listener of of one of my port. How would I know the location of that specific listener?

But is there anyway of knowing that the unknown specific port listener is waiting for what request?

Do a netstat, and find out which command is waiting.

If that is a predefined, you can find out by resources. If that is user defined, you could check the source to find out for what it is listening.

hi,
umm... it is a user defined. You mentioned about the souce. Do u mean the source code?
Coz this server actually was bought in japan since 1995 and this don't have any documentation for this program except for one hardcopy but not a very detailed one. Even the assigned administrator also didn't know that this program existed until recently we encountered a problem and traced it to here.
