Inserting IP in one line of a file
Hi,

I have this line:

ip=111.222.133.144,mac=00:16:3E:2A:08:3C,vifname=veth360','ip=10.2.3.4,vifname=veth360a'
^
|
-------
I want to insert this IP 144.133.222.111 between "144" and ",". See below:

ip=111.222.133.144 144.133.222.111 ,mac=00:16:3E:2A:08:3C,vifname=veth360','ip=10.2.3.4,vifname=veth360a'

I've tried but I could not find a solution... can you help me?

$ awk -F, -v OFS=, '{$1=$1 " 144.133.222.111"}1' file1
ip=111.222.133.144 144.133.222.111,mac=00:16:3E:2A:08:3C,vifname=veth360','ip=10.2.3.4,vifname=veth360a'

Or in sed:

If your assumption that the new IP address is the "inverse" of the original IP address is correct, then
a) Well done Smilie
b) The OP maybe has some weird networking issues.
