Time taken to execute a ksh
Hi,

I am executing a ksh.
I want to note the time taken to execute each command that are executed in the ksh and write it in a log file.
Also I want to note the total time taken to execute the ksh.

How can I do that?What is the command to do that?

try using timex command
go through the man page of timex

You could also use the shell built-in variable $SECONDS
Code:
#!/bin/sh
START=$SECONDS
:
#script commands go here
:
END=$SECONDS
echo elapsed time is $((END-START)) seconds
