Shell Programming and Scripting

Hi..

I have some content as

Hello how are you?
Where are you?

i need the above content to be placed in a file called hello.sh

So,when i execute a file called hi.sh it should automatically create the file hello.sh and write the above content into it. I know to create a file using touch command but not aware of how to place the contents into it while getting executed. So can anyone please help me.

try using echo or printf command please go through the man pages you will understand..

my hi.sh is like this,

touch /root/check/hello.sh

by this i have created the file but i need to place the contents too inside the file once i execute this hi.sh file

As you said that echo can be used, can you guide me where i need to use it??

Include following lines in ur shell script

echo "Hello how are you?" >> hello.sh
echo "Where are you?" >> hello.sh
