Correct my regex for record_diagnostic status
Hi I am trying to match

Code:
1. <record_diagnostic status="Failure" msg_id="22">

or
Code:
2. <record_diagnostic status="Failure">

The following is the expression that i am using

Code:
if (($rec =~ m/\<record\_diagnostic\s+status\=\"Failure\"\>/gi)
|| ($rec =~ m/\<record\_diagnostic\s+status\=\"Failure\"\s+msg\_id\=\"([0-9]+)\"\>/gi)) {

It seems that the regex is matching the first expression properly but not the second. Please let me know if there is anything wrong in the regex.
