String concatenation with spaces
Hi,
I have a variable $ID=40 and I need to build a string like
40 40 40 40 40 40

so repeating ID 'n' times separated by spaces.

Any help?

Assuming perl script....

Code:
$ID=40;
$NewID = "$ID " x 10;
print $NewID;

Code:
perl t1.pl
40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40 40

# 3

The nice perl solution makes this awk look very long, but anyway...

Code:
echo $ID 6 | awk '{ for( I=$2; I>0;I-- ) printf (I>1)?$1 FS:$1 RS } '
