Error Read 2 $vars from file line by line

Need some help with the following Bourne Shell script. The script is only looping one time and then stops. The script should loop as many times as there are entries in the input file = $FILE_LIST line by line. The file has the path to a source file and the destination directory where the file should be put. The script is transferring the files okay, now I want to make sure the entire file transferred using the chksum command, if so then delete the file off of server "B"

The FILE_LIST has the following data:

/home/test/test.pdf /home/test
/home/test/test.pdf /home/test
/home/test/servers_test /home/test
/home/test/test2842.pdf /home/test
/home/test/test.rpm /home/test

I would expect 5 lines of output, but my results is only giving me the first line. Here is the portion of the script that should delete the 5 files listed in the FILE_LIST file from server "B"

DID_NOT_TRANSFER=/tmp/FILES_DID_NOT_TRANSFER
FILE_LIST=/tmp/src_test
touch $DID_NOT_TRANSFER

while read SRC_FILES DEST_DIR
do
# Check to see if the entire file made it over using the cksum command
CHKSUMFTP=$(ssh test-ftp cksum $SRC_FILES |awk '{print $1}')
CHKSUMAPPS=$( cksum $DEST_DIR/`/usr/bin/basename $SRC_FILES`| awk '{print $1}')
# Check the value of the checksums from both servers
if [ "${CHKSUMFTP}" = "${CHKSUMAPPS}" ] ; then
ssh test-ftp /bin/rm ${SRC_FILES}
else # Save the file name in a temp file to be mailed out later
echo $SRC_FILES >> $DID_NOT_TRANSFER
echo " \n" >> $DID_NOT_TRANSFER
fi
done < $FILE_LIST
mailx -s "SRC_FILES did not transfer to apps properly on `date`" < $DID_NOT_TRANSFER maillist
/bin/rm $DID_NOT_TRANSFER
exit 0

As a first step, try using ssh with the -n option

(ssh -n ....)
