File format

Dear Friends,

I hope everything's fine for you. I've seen a lots of post today, I hope you will be able to have some times to help me Smilie

I am on SOLARIS 9
I can only use shell (ksh)
I can't use PERL

I am writing a script with functions that list some directories on an FTP server. The idea is to create a list of file on all master directory.

Example :

\home\directory\master1
\home\directory\master1\directory1
\home\directory\master2
\home\directory\master\directory1

and so on ..

I am using NcFTP (NcFTPls) to make this list.

But I have a lots of problems :

First : This list is not on the format that I need :

Code:
here is the list as sample :

-rw-rw---- 1 dmz master 141352584 Oct 19 11:19 SATURNE_1dAV_20090224_20090225_artmod_R20090225.nc
-rw-rw---- 1 dmz master 370328 Oct 18 12:53 SATURNE_DIADCT_ANA_R20090225
-rw-rw---- 1 dmz master 6342 Oct 19 08:56 SATURNE_NOMO_OUT_001_FCST_R20090225
-rw-rw---- 1 dmz master 94 Oct 19 08:56 SATURNE_NOMO_OUT_001_INITSYST_R20090225

As I only need SIZE DATE TIME FILE NAME, here is what I am looking for

370328 18/10/2009 12:53 SATURNE_DIADCT_ANA_R20090225
141352584 19/10/2009 11:19 SATURNE_1dAV_20090224_20090225_artmod_R20090225.nc
6342 19/10/2009 08:56 SATURNE_NOMO_OUT_001_FCST_R20090225
94 19/10/2009 08:56 SATURNE_NOMO_OUT_001_INITSYST_R20090225

I did try to use SED and AWK but I am not good enough to make tis to work as I need.

Is there any command line that I could add to my function ?

I hope you will be able to help me ...

I am making this edit as I forgot to mention that I need that list to be sort by date time. My need to is get the first and last date time. I have to make report on when the first and the last file were available.

I am writing a new edit as I found a way to format the file like I need :

to get the file like this :

Size date time file name

375028175 18 Oct 13:00 SATURNE_NOMO_OUT_001_INITSYST_R20090225

I used awk on this way :

Code:
awk -F" " '{print $5" "$7" "$6" "$8" "$9}'

But I am still need your help to sort the log file by date time. Thanks in advanced for your help

Hello aigles,

I am using Ncftpls on this way

Code:
ncftpls -x "-lR"

the "t" option did not work for me. I cannot change the Ncftp version. So far the only thing that cannot be done is to get the date on this format dd/mm/yyy

Do you know if it's possible to ask the ftp server to give me the complete date time on the file like this dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss ?

thanks for your help
