Hi All,

I have writtern a shell script which has a sql query. I want to send the results of sql query to a shared area over a network.I also want to log the errors in a log file if the text file is not sent to shared area.


The results of sql query are spooled in TEMPFILE.
LOGFILE contains path where the log files will be generated.

I am using following code to send the results of this sql query as a xls file to remote machine and log the error.

ftp -i -n $HOST <<FileTransfer
binary
exec >>$LOGFILE
exec 2>&1
put TEMPFILE
ERROR=`grep ERROR $TEMPFILE`
if [z "$ERROR"]

echo "=======================================" >> $LOGFILE
FileTransfer

But, the text file which contains sql query results is not pushed in shared area and also log file is not getting updated.

Please help on this.

You have an interesting mixture of ftp and shell commands. The syntax of ${HOST} looks like Windows?
Please post the exact Operating System of the source and destination computers and make it clear which computer hosts each operation, which computer holds which file, and which environment variable refers to each file. Where is the SQL query in the script?
