I ha directory which keep getting files in every 10 mins and some time delay.
I want to monitor if the directory getting the files in every 10 mins if not captured the last received file time and calculate the delay.

I've to do a simple job many times whenever it has been asked, just i've to log in to all of fourtien HP servers and i've to execute
ps -fu user > temp
cat temp|sendmail "xyz@z.com"
commands to send the statics of all of 14 servers over the mail to particular user id..

I would like to write a script which will search a file say abc.dat in /a/b/data for 15 mins only. If the script finds the file in 15 mins then it will exit will exit sucessfully and if there is no file for 15 mins it will exit and copy the last day file (abc.dat_ddmmyyhhmmss) from... (1 Reply)

is it possible to automatically run a script (bash) when an event occurs?
I mean, let's say that I (or one of my users) plug in a flash memory (USB) ... is it possible to run a script every time I do this action (let's say to log user, date and other infos on a file)?
