cron entry fails.
Hello,
I have added the following entry in my cron file:

* * * * * . /home/texprd/.profile>/dev/null 2>&1; echo "test" >> /home/texprd/test.log 2>&1


The cron fails ie the added command fails to append "test" in the test.log file. However if I run the command manually from the shell it works.

Can anyone help me on this please?

I tried the same, but no success.

There is probably something in your .profile which does not work in the limited environment of cron - or something like "stty" which needs a real terminal.
Just run this bit once without the redirect and look for the error messages in root mail.
